BERGEN: Mappevisninger under B-open – Open call

I samarbeid med B-open har VISP invitert kuratorene Kari Brandtzæg fra Munch-museet og Johan Gustavsson fra 1646 i Haag til å møte det bergenske kunstfeltet!
Fredag 16. september vil vi arrangere mappevisning på Grand Hotel Terminus fra kl 16 til 20.

VIKTIG:
-Du behøver kun å FYLLE UT DETTE SKJEMA med din mailadresse, lenke til hjemmeside og CV innen 5. september. Ved behov kan du bli spurt om å ettersende bilder av nyere verk.
-Når frist er utløpt videresendes informasjonen til panelet, de velger selv hvem de ønsker å møte.
-VISP setter opp kjøreplan for arrangement og kontakter kunstnerne som kuratorene velger ut. Hvis du er blant de utvalgte, får du beskjed minimum 1 uke før møtet.
-Alle typer kunstneriske uttrykk er velkommen.
-Du får femten minutter til å presentere eget kunstnerskap, du velger selv hva du ønsker å fokusere på.
-Du kan velge om du ønsker å presentere en fysisk eller digital mappe, projektor er tilgjengelig.
-Du kan holde presentasjonen din enten på norsk eller engelsk.

NB: Du må være registrert som medlem i VISP på det tidspunktet du sender inn søknad. Dersom du ikke er medlem av VISP vil søknaden din ikke behandles, sjekk her om du er registrert som medlem.

Vi har en intensjon om at Mappevisninger er med på å skape fremtidige samarbeid og utstillinger for våre medlemmer, VISP dekker reise og opphold for kuratorene, men har ingen påvirkning på hvilke kunstnere som velges ut og hvordan et evt videre samarbeid mellom kunstner og gallerist/institusjon/kurator vil utfolde seg.

Om kuratorene:
Kari J. Brandtzæg er konservator/kurator ved Munchmuseet. Brandtzæg er mag.art. med en magistergradsavhandling i russisk kunst ved Universitetet i Oslo i 1995.  Hun har virket som kunsthistoriker og kurator ved flere kunstinstitusjoner som Norsk kulturråd, KORO (Kunst i offentlig rom) og Nasjonalmuseet med utstillinger som; Se opp! Kunst fra Moskva og St. Petersburg, (2004, Museet for samtidskunst) og Kyss frosken! Forvandlingens kunst (2005, Nasjonalmuseet), Krigens skygge. Politisk kunst i Norge 1914–2014,( 2015, Kunstnernes Hus). Hun var kunstkritiker i Dagbladet 2008–2009 og har bidratt med en rekke artikler til diverse publikasjoner i inn og utland. Fra 2009 til 2013 var hun doktorgradsstipendiat ved Freie Universität, Berlin og Universitet i Oslo.  Ved Munchmuseet har hun siden 2016 kuratert flere profilerte utstillinger som bl.a Tracey Emin. Sjelens ensomhet 2021.

Johan Gustavsson (Stockholm 1978) er kurator og pedagog med base i Haag, Nederland.
Gustavsson er co-direktør/kurator ved 1646 (www.1646.nl) og foreleser ved Royal Academy of Art, i Haag. Han var en av initiativtakeren av Alternative art guide  og styreleder for Page not found .
Gustavsson kuraterte storskalautstillingene Prospects for Mondriaan Fonds i 2020, 2021, 2022 og jobber for tiden med neste utgave av Prospects 2023 på verdensarvsbygget Van Nelle Factory i Rotterdam.

Mappevisninger er støttet av Vestland fylkeskommune.

ENGLISH: In collaboration with B-open, VISP has invited the curators Kari Brandtzæg from the Munch Museum and Johan Gustavsson from 1646 in The Hague to meet the Bergen art scene!
On Friday 16 September, we will organize a portfolio viewing at the Grand Hotel Terminus from 4pm to 8pm.

IMPORTANT:
-You only need to FILL IN THIS FORM with your email address, link to your website and CV by September 5. If necessary, you can be asked to send images of recent works.
-When the deadline has passed, the information is forwarded to the curators, they will decide who they would like to meet.
-VISP sets up the schedule for the presentations and will contact the artists that the curators select. If you are among the selected, you will be notified at least 1 week before the meeting.
-All types of artistic expressions are welcome.
-You will get fifteen minutes to present your own art, you choose what you want to focus on.
-You can choose whether you want to present a physical or digital folder, projector will be available.

NB: You must be registered as a member of VISP at the time you submit the application. If you are not a member of VISP, your application will not be processed, check here to see if you are registered as a member.
We have an intention that Portfolio presentations helps to create future collaborations and exhibitions for our members. VISP covers travel and accommodation for the curators, but has no influence on which artists are selected or how any further collaboration between artist and gallerist/institution/curator will unfold.

The panel:
Kari J. Brandtzæg is a conservator/curator at the Munch Museum. She has worked as an art historian and curator at several art institutions such as the Norwegian Arts Council, KORO  and the National Museum with exhibitions such as; Look up! Art from Moscow and St. Petersburg, (2004, Museum of Contemporary Art) and Kiss the Frog! The Art of Transformation (2005, The National Museum), The Shadow of War. Political art in Norway 1914–2014, (2015, Kunstnernes Hus). She was an art critic in Dagbladet 2008–2009 and has contributed a number of articles to various publications at home and abroad. From 2009 to 2013, she was a doctoral student at the Freie Universität, Berlin and the University of Oslo. At the Munch Museum, she has since 2016 curated several high-profile exhibitions such as Tracey Emin: «The Loneliness of the soul» (2021).

Johan Gustavsson (Stockholm 1978) is a curator and educator based in The Hague, The Netherlands. 
Gustavsson, co-director/ curator at 1646 (www.1646.nl) Lecturer at the Royal Academy of Art, in The Hague. Co-initiator of (www.alternativeartguide.com) and head of the board at (www.page-not-found.nl).
Gustavsson curated the large scale exhibitions Prospects for the Mondriaan Fonds in 2020, 2021, 2022 and currently working on the next edition of Prospects 2023 at work heritage building Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam.
