Portfolio presentation – the do´s and dont´s

How do you present your work? How should one present one’s work?
VISP has invited Professor Eamon O’Kane from KMD to host a workshop on different approaches to presenting your work, your portfolio, to curators, buyers, galleries and so on.

Part 1: Eamon will show how he approaches portfolio presentations. He is currently represented by five international galleries and has a long and broad experience in jurying works from both students and other artists.
What are the do’s and don’ts?

Part 2: We have invited Lorie Ballage and David A Rios to give a live portfolio presentation with advice from Eamon.

The workshop will be held in English, part 1 will be filmed and later published on our Youtube channel.

Eamon O’Kane was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and lives in Denmark and Norway. He has received various awards including the Taylor Art Award and a Fulbright Award, and has had solo shows in international galleries and museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles; the Sheldon Art Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska; the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin; and Museum Frieder Burda in Baden-Baden, Germany. Eamon O’Kane is Professor of Visual Art at The Art Academy, Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design, University of Bergen, Norway.

Lorie Ballage (b.1994, France) holds a BFA from the Art Academy of Dundee, Scotland and a Master of Fine Art from the Art Academy of Bergen, Norway, where she currently resides. She paricipated in this year´s Årsutstillingen in Kristiansand and is also one of the co-founders of the ceramic workshop Cone 7 in Bergen.

David A. Rios has a BA in photography from KHiB and an MA in fine art from the same institution. In addition to his artistic practice he is currently an Associate Professor at Bergen School of Architecture and a former Assistant Professor in Sculpture and Installation at KMD, UiB. Rios has been based in Bergen since 2003.
