Welcome to our talk about this year’s KMD Masters: “A little larger than the entire universe”.

The talk will be streamed live on Youtube and Facebook but without a live audience, thus we encourage you to ask questions to the panel in the comment section.

The event will be live streamed on VISP´s Youtube channel here. The talk will be held in English, the panel and moderator are:

Robert Carter is an artist and writer from Manchester living in Norway. He studied a BFA at Kingston University in London and graduated with an MFA from the Bergen Art Academy in 2020. Alongside his work in printmaking and film he edits the Dental Advice Bureau a self-publishing platform that casts a critical eye over arts’ function in society.

Renate Synnes Handal got her masters degree in Fine Art from KMD/UiB in 2018 and since her graduation has worked as an art-critic for Bergens Tidende as well as developing her own artistic practice. She loves words, subjectivity and playing around with meaning. When she is not in this critic’s-talk she is working on her country-album.

Kristoffer Jul-Larsen is a critic for Kunstkritikk.no since 2017 and has written art and book reviews for several publications. He is Associate Professor of Norwegian Literature at the Norwegian University of Applied Science, where he teaches in programs for teachers and kindergarten teachers. He has previously taught at the MA program for art criticism at NTNU.

Moderator: Eva Rowson is an artist, curator and Managing Director of Bergen Kjøtt. Her curatorial work is organised around hospitality, collaboration and administration – focusing on how the different types of work involved are valued, and with what consequences. This research has been at the core of recent projects including the curatorial programme «Who’s doing the washing up?», Bergen Kunsthall (Norway) and Lighthouse (UK), 2018-19 and ‘Como imaginar una musea?’, a Catalan-Spanish-English conjuring of a feminist cultural institution (2017-18).

VISP is grateful for the support from Bergen kommune and Norsk kulturråd for our Critic´s talks!
